Today the class meet online for a virtual fieldtrip at Runescape. Everyone signed up and logged in. We discussed the sign up procedures and the type of personal information that was required. We reviewed the terms of service and the privacy policy. Then we met in the game and communicated using the chat feature in the game.
Now the challenge begins, you have 2 classes to find and collect as many of the following items as possible. You will have to collaborate and cooperate with your classmates to collectively amass these items within class time. This is a classroom activity and I should not receive emails from parents claiming I told you to play Runescape for homework. You will have 15 minutes to formulate a plan and then all communication will take place on the Clan Chat. Once your class has collected all the items, you must visit my character to show me the items. Good luck and may the class that collaborates, communicates and works as a team complete the list.

Please post your reflection on how the first day went. Did you have a task to complete? Were you communicating with your classmates? Will you be able to accomplish all the tasks?
DILigence 
I was assigned to collect 25 logs, and I completed the task. Yes, I was communicating with other classmates via clan chat. I think we will all not acomplish the tasks in the next class, only if we all co-operate with each other, and know what your task(s) are.
I thought that the activities we had to do were harder without talking. The first day went smoothly because we all assigned each other different tasks to complete. We still have maybe two more tasks we will get done but so far i think we are doing pretty well. Some of the items on the list are harder to get, so it is up to everyone to contribute to the tasks.
I personally felt today’s class wasn’t a succes. We started off very slowly with people having roubles to log in. As soon as we couldn’t communicate it was extremly chaotic. I was assigned to do unicorn horns and it was a drag. I needed to talk to everyone because thy were constantly dieng etc. Now I have found out Unicorn horns are a member item and there is no way for us to get it meaning my group waster a whole chunk of class time for nothing. The rest seemed to be doing okay but apparently from my observation few people werent doing what they were supposed to do. At this rater we will NOT be able to complete this assignment but who knows?
i was assigned to to get thye extra people on the mainland from runescape. it was an easy task gladly because we could talk to each other – there was no way of talking in from a person in the mainland to a person in tutorial island. i managed to get half of the people done and we will do another assignment as soon as my tutorial team gets to the mainland^^
My job was to kill unicorns and get horns from them when they die. To be honest, I don’t really like the teamwork from my group. I just don’t understand! Because usually you die and go back to this main land and of course I don’t know where we should go after you die. I kept on asking my brother Ethan if he knows, but he doesn’t. I tried to ask Akshar about it and he said that Ethan should help me. It is really confusing and I don’t like it at all.
I THINK PLAYING RUNE SCAPE FOR FIELD TRIP WAS GREAT!!! IT WAS FUN COMMUNICATING WITH EACH OTHER AND I QUITE ENJOYED IT VERY MUCH. MY JOB WAS COLLECTING LOGS BY CUTTING TREES. aLtHOUgH, I WASN’T ABLE TO COLECT WOODS BECASUE I HAD NO AXX….. (OH WELL….)
i think playing rune scape for field trip was cool and …. cool… it’s first time having virtual field trip in the class… it was so cool and it’s fun to meet all the people, friends and even TEACHER in the game…
hi i think i was the only one who had to get the logs. and it was really interesting to do it as a class and it was also fun to chat instead of talking.
It was funny to play together and talk together in the play and the thing i needed to do was to kill unicorns and getting there horns.
This is a really hard task that I have ever done so far. The reason this is hard because I kept on dying when the Unicorn is attacking me.
We took a long time to gather together in the game and log on. Also, we couldn’t find the items which was the unicorn horns. We weren’t members ,so we couldn’t get that. However, it was great to communicat each other in the game and to cooperate. ^^*
yeah, the whole class had tasks we had to complete working together and so far we’re doing great. we did communicate by using the clan chat, it was easy to some people but some others didn’t know how to use the clan chat. im sure we will be able to complete all the tasks given since we only have a few easy ones left.

I cut 25 logs and 5 yews and got 10k … easy peasy.
i didnt do anything because i was absent.
The task I had to do was get some unicorn horns. Because I was still at tutorial island, I was unable to contribute as much. Now we know that the unicorn horns are only for members. It was interesting to see how we could/ couldn’t cooperate without talking and just chatting
Mining for copper and tin ores was easy even without talking, but it was hard to give our ore to Sam because we couldn’t talk.
the whole class played runescape. i had to get 10 lobsters and i did. really easy
My task was to help gather 25 logs and 10000 gold. I was communicating with my classmates through clan chat and i think we can finich all the tasks today….
It went preety well, I collected the bronze bars and have the ore with the help with the other miners.
Tutorial island was really long, but i enjoyed it. I wasn’t able to colaborate because i didn’t have my permission slip, but the tutorials were fun.
I this last class wasnt that successful but i was still on tutorial island so i completed the tasks i could complete so i think our group did the best we could. I think if we cooperate well we will be able to complete the tasks on time. 🙂
my job was to look for policy rules and web saftey on runescape. it was quite easy. now i am helping on somethings on runescape
I think last class wasnt very succesful we had trouble communicating and everybody was spread out so we couldnt really organize ourselves well
on the first day, i was very confused because i havnt played runescape for a looonngg time and alot of peopel were expecting me to tell them alot because i said that i played runescape before. I was the only one that was assigned to the task of getting 10 lobstersand it was very easy for me. i also helped by killing some unicorns to get their horns until I found out that it is a MEMBERS ONLY ITEM! i think that the tasks were spread out evenly because some people in our class are very high levels so they know where to go and what to get.
First of all… I think half of the class did not know what they were doing… Secondly… I think we did well on the first day for a class who didn’t know how to play runescape. Working online colaborately helps us reach the goals we need in the game. I completed my group task easily and communicating with others was also easy. We only need a Rune Full Trimmed and 5 Mith bars…
I thought that this field trip was boring. i don’t like runescape and we cold of done something els to lear what we laerned for runescape. sorry Mr. D.
